Missed pill 3 days, messed up period?

I have been on birth control for about 8 months now, so I'd say my periods have been regular. I came home from college the weekend of September 11 and forgot to take my birth control home. I miss three days, and I got my period on Monday the 14th. I didn't continue my pills because I wasn't sure what to do, or if I should continue. I've had both protected and unprotected sex since then, but my boyfriend did not ejaculate inside of me. I'm due for my period now right, since it's been almost a month? My breasts are tender and I feel kind of crampy. But I know these are both signs of pregnancy. I don't plan on having sex anytime soon until I figure this out. I will take a pregnancy test. But could my breasts be tender because I'm supposed to be getting my period? I know it's going to be irregular now. If I find out I'm not preg, should I go back on birth control starting sunday?

Its hard to say what's going on. You will absolutely need to take a pregnancy test. Use a sensitive test and a first morning urine. Repeat in several days to a week if you are not sure. What to do depends on what type of pill you are on, and when in your cycle you missed them. Here is a great chart from Planned Parenthood that explains it all clearly. http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-topics/birth-control/if-forget-take-pill-19269.htm Remember to always, always, always have back up birth control methods with you so that you are not in the position to have unprotected sex. If you miss pills and have unprotected sex...you may become pregnant. If you are on bcp's, then clearly your intention is NOT to have a baby right now. You could have also taken Plan B or some other type of emergency contraception. This is available over the counter at drugstores. Good luck, take a test if you don't get your period soon, repeat it in a few days to a week if you still don't get it, and print out that chart from Planned Parenthood so that you will always have it.

Okay thank you. But back to the question about tender breasts and cramps.. since this is about the time I should be getting my period, this is normal, I believe. But there's a chance I may miss my period even if I'm not pregnant. So it's still normal right?
