Honestly, I have no idea, but it does not sound good to me, it sounds potentially serious and I really think you need to go see a doctor. Within the week. Probably not an emergency room visit..unless you have bloody stools, are fainting/passing out, experiencing dizzy spells... But please, see a professional.

Q: After a bowel movement if I need to go urinate, it stings down there when urine passes over it. This happens every time i need to urinate but only for about 2-3 hours after a bowel movement. Otherwise, no stinging occurs down there. What is the problem?
A: Could be a urinary tract infection. You could be wiping and bacteria is going into the opening . Definitely see a doctor. They'll prescribe something for you to get rid of this
Q: I had my partial hysterectomy on November 18th, and bladder tack. I had to have a catheter until December 7th. I didn't have my first bowel movement until 8 day later after the surgery. My issue is ever since the catheter has been removed I have had diarrhea everyday. However, today was the worst as soon as I eat something it would go right through me. I know this going sound horrible, but it is like a bright yellow color consisting of some mucus, and really water like. Is this normal to start all the sudden having bowel movement like this, or is this a concern I should call my doctor about?
A: I am sorry noone responded. Has this improved at all? Have you been to a doctor yet?
Q: I am a 50 year old woman. Have not had a period in over one year. Occasionally I have vaginal bleeding after a bowel movement. this is not a bowel movement that I need to strain with. Just a normal movement. When I wipe there is pink, vaginal blood. Why? Should I be concerned?
Q: I have issues with my bowels and intestines. I had colonoscopy one month ago, Dr finds nothing wrong, and no solution. I often have urgent need to move bowels. Sometimes, during the urgent bowel movement, extreme nausea (i sometimes vomit after bowel movement). usually, after the movement of substance out of my bowels, the nausea stops. it seems as if the actual movement of substance THRU the bowels causes nausea in my stomach. any suggestions as to other options? i tried logging diet and bm for a month and found no clues as to dietary causes. thank you so much for your time.
A: I get this too. The dr told me it was irritable bowel syndrome. I also get severe cramps sometimes when I have to go to the bathroom. One time I actually passed out while sitting on the toilet and fell right on my face. The dr. gave me a medicine that is supposed to relax the bowel and it has helped. When I feel the cramping symptoms coming on I take it and I haven't had any more of the vomiting or passing out.
Q: I had surgery 6 weeks ago for rectocele, cystocele repirs and a sling. I am having horrible pain in the sciatic region of my back. I cannot sit comfortably and I cannot walk for more then a half hour. I also have trouble having a bowel movement....things don't line up right......I have seen my MD and another MD and have got no answers...HELP
A: I also just had(5-29-08) a cystocele, enterocele, rectocele repair and am having severe burning left leg pain when I have a bowel movement or stand or sit. The rectocele repair was a surprise ot me the am of surgery as I had told dr.I wasn't having any problems with that, just bladder falling into vaginal area. I don't even have an urge to have a bowel movement and couldn,t get past the pain to have one if I didn't start it with a little soap and warm water enema. Called dr.yesterday to tell him--he gave me more pain med and I will see him on Thur. The pain is terrible.
A: Prior to my surgery I had horrible pain like that in my back....sciatic region...the surgery took most of it away. I have a tiny bit but nothing compared to what I had. It was a miracle for me, that it took away the pain. Try an antiinflammatory med. Also those heat pads with medication in them helped me quite a bit. You know they are adhesive pads and it puts a warmth in there from the medicated pad. I can't think of the name. Heat to the area helped me.
Q: Hey girls what could severe cramps every single period , and terrible gut renching pain having a bowel movement during days on my period mean ? What can I do to alleviate this ? I feel like I'm dying I dread my periods...
A: Do you have bowel movement pain every day of your period or just the first couple of days when the flow is heavier? Is your period heavy and clotted? Birth control helps with heavy periods and painful cramping. It also prevents ovarian cysts and endometriosis. I've been on birth control pills for many years but I remember before I started taking them, I'd have one day that I'd have bad diarrhea and then a couple days I'd feel constipated and would hurt or "cramp" bad during a bowel movement. I'd suggest making an appointment with your gynocologist for a pap smear and pelvic exam. You might want to try a natural laxative like Swiss Kriss or a laxative tea if you are in need of immediate relief.
Q: Over three years ago I noticed a pea sized lump in my area between the vagina and anus. A doctor checked it and said it was nothing so I figured it would go away on its own. Well it stayed and now it's the size of a large grape. It wasn't painful in the beginning but now my whole bottom area aches, and when I use the bathroom it has sharp stabbing pain. I have the constant urge to have a bowel movement and when I do it feels like giving birth. The last week or so it feels like pressure down there and my stools are thin pencil shaped. My bowel movements have increased from once a day to at least six now. Also I'm not sure if it's related or could help figure this out but I recently had an abnormal Pap smear and a positive hpv test. Someone said it was hemorrhoids but it doesn't itch at all.
A: Hemorrhoids don't necessarily itch but they also wouldn't be in your perennial area and wouldn't remain there nonstop for years. They'd be about your anus. I'd see a doctor again and stress it has grown and it is painful and you are very concerned. Mention the change in bowel movements and the constant urge to go. The constant urge does sound somewhat consistent with a hemorrhoid because you hurt so you don't end up being able to finish, but if it is, you'll need to work on not straining during a bowel movement.
Q: For the past year, sometimes when I do a bowel movement it kills and I notice blood surrounding my poop and when I wipe there is blood on the toilet paper. It has been happening more regularly. I also suffer from headaches almost once a week if not more ( I'm not sure if its from my contacts/glasses or something else) and I take advil or aleve to get rid of the headaches. This never happened to me before a year ago. The last time I did a bowel movement it really hurt and I almost had to stop because it wasn't coming out.It finally did with a little bit of pushing and waiting, but on the left hand side of my lower stomach it starting to hurt, and still does. My diet isnt perfect, so I could improve on that. I bassically eat everything, chicken, beef, bread, very little milk, ham, cheese and I drink a lot of tea and maybe 2 glasses of water a day. The night before this bowel movement I had ground beef in my dinner, and I find that every-time this happens it is after a meal that has beef in it. Could that be causing it? Any ideas to what is causing this to happen and how I can fix it will be greatly appreciated as I am to embarrassed to go to the doctors to explain this, but I will have to if it doesn't change soon! Thanks!

Q: For the past several months, I have been having somewhat severe pelvic and pain in my rectum when attempting to have a bowel movement. Just sitting down on the toilet to urinate causes everything to hurt. I'm talking about the kind of pain that will take your breath away, very sharp. I feel like if I attempt to have a bowel movement I will seriously pass out. This is only occurring during my period and has me concerned. However, not concerned enough to see a doctor about it because I'm terrified of doctors. I am 27 and have never been to a gynecologist before, and don't plan on ever going. I have issues with anxiety.
A: Well you are 27 and you need to see a gyno to be diagnosed. It sounds like you might have a rectovaginal cyst. In order for it to be found you need to be examined vaginally as well as rectally and they have to go deep to feel it. I had it and it went undetected for 15yrs. I suffered that long until I found a doctor that specialized in endo found it. Have you ever had other cramping during periods or ovulation? I would get your CA-125 checked to see if it is elevated as that is a way to see if you are inflamed which is an indicator of endo.
